Description
From the ” A Horse of a Different Color” collection, “Triple Crown Roses” represents Secretariat winning the Kentucky Derby race of 1973. In one of the finest performances in racing history, Secretariat, ridden by Ron Turcotte, completed the 1.5-mile race in 2 minutes and 24 seconds, a dirt-track record for that distance.
I was thrilled and honored to have been chosen as the featured artist to showcase my work that captures the beauty and magnificence of Big Red in honor of his 50th birthday celebration. Secretariart was far from any ordinary racehorse. In the sporting world, he’s often mentioned in the same breath alongside some of the human all-time greats.
